Alexander “Xander” Xue, Ph.D.

Postdoc

Xander is a postdoc in the lab who is interested in comparative population genomics methods. He is currently developing a likelihood model to infer the selective dynamics underlying a complex polygenic trait by using GWAS summary statistics.

Prior to this, Xander completed a postdoc at Rutgers University with Professor Andrew D. Kern developing a deep learning approach detecting partial selective sweeps. Xander finished his Ph.D. at City University of New York with Professor Michael J. Hickerson, where he primarily worked on developing hierarchical co-demographic modeling approaches given genomic-scale data across multiple independent taxa. Xander joined the Siepel lab in late 2018.
