Hussein (Hejase) Hijazi, Ph.D.

Hussein is a postdoc who is interested in developing and applying machine learning techniques to estimate signatures of natural selection in human populations. Hussein earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Michigan State University (MSU) under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Liu, where he worked on scalable phylogenetic analysis and function interpretation of genomes with complex evolutionary histories. Hussein joined the Siepel lab in early 2018.
