Katie Brenner
Katie serves as Science Manager of the Simons Center for Quantitative Biology (SCQB). In this role, Katie works closely with Dr. Siepel, as well as other faculty, staff and departments to design, edit, prepare and distribute grant proposals, journal publications, donor reports and online resources, among other responsibilities. Katie has more than 15 years’ managerial and hands-on research experience, and most recently served as director of project management of the New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) where she helped build an automated robotics platform generating induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and managed more than 20 revenue-generating projects leveraging the platform. Prior to this , Katie served as lab manager at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, where she helped establish the Institute’s high-throughput screening facility and was an integral member of a small-molecule screening team that designed and implemented an automated cell-based assay targeting motor neurons from both mouse and human models of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). She has a B.S. in Biology from Siena College. Katie joined the SCQB in early 2018.
